Jeep Safari for Couples in Side: What Two People Should Actually Expect

The Side Jeep Safari is a shared tour, so the honest answer comes first: you travel in an open-top 4x4 carrying eight to ten guests and a professional driver, in a convoy of other jeeps. It is not a private romantic outing and nobody should book it hoping for one. What it does give two people is a full day out of the resort for EUR 20 each with lunch included: viewpoints over Green Lake and Green Canyon, a swim stop in a mountain village, and an optional hour on the water afterwards. If an evening suits you better than a day in the sun, the Side Night Jeep Safari is EUR 35 per person and includes dinner on board and a catamaran cruise.

Is a jeep safari romantic? The honest answer first

Not in the way the word is usually meant, no. The Side Jeep Safari is a shared tour: an open-top 4x4 carrying eight to ten guests with a professional driver, running as part of a convoy of other jeeps. You spend the day beside families with children, groups of friends and other couples, and the volume at any given stop is set by all of them rather than by the two of you.

We would rather you read that here than work it out at the hotel gate. There is no vehicle to yourselves, no table for two on a mountain, and no part of the programme is staged for romance. What is on offer is different, and for many couples a better use of a holiday day: eight hours in the Taurus foothills at EUR 20 each with lunch included, in country no resort shuttle goes near.

So the useful question is not whether it is romantic, but whether two people who like being outdoors, do not mind sharing a bench and want one real day away from the sunbed will enjoy it.

What the two of you actually get for EUR 20 each

Pickup is at the main entrance gate of your hotel in the morning, after breakfast time, from Side and the surrounding resort areas, and you are back late in the afternoon. Eight hours, door to door. The asphalt ends at an old Roman bridge, which is the first stop, and from there the track runs through orange, lemon and pomegranate orchards and past cotton and sesame fields into the foothills.

Higher up the route passes ancient Roman aqueducts and, in the foothills, sometimes nomadic Yörük families — a chance, not a promise. Then comes the heart of the day: a panoramic viewpoint over Green Lake, a swim stop at Oymapınar village where freshly made Turkish pancakes and a drink are served, a photo stop at the Oymapınar Dam, and a viewpoint above Green Canyon with lunch at a lakeside restaurant included in the fare. There is a visit to a traditional village mosque with the guide, and on some programmes a stop at the Manavgat Waterfall on the way home, where the entrance is paid on site. That last one depends on the day, so do not build the trip around it.

  • Full-day jeep safari in an 8-10 seat 4x4 with a professional driver
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off from Side and the surrounding resort areas
  • Lunch at a lakeside restaurant by Green Canyon
  • Tour guiding throughout the day

The three stretches that genuinely work for two

Strip the day back and there are three places where being two rather than six changes what the stop feels like. None of them are set up as couple moments. They are simply the points where you are out of the vehicle, nobody is counting heads, and you can walk a few metres off on your own.

The rest of the day is a convoy, honestly: engine noise, dust, other people's cameras, and a driver working a route he knows by heart. That is the trade. Two viewpoints, one swim and one long lunch are what you are buying, and they are reason enough to go.

  • The viewpoints over Green Lake and above Green Canyon, where you look down at the water from the mountain instead of up at it from a boat
  • The swim stop at Oymapınar village, followed by Turkish pancakes made in front of you and a drink
  • Lunch at the lakeside restaurant, where you sit at the water for a while rather than pass it

Open jeeps, dust and the summer water fights

In summer the jeeps are open-topped and the day includes water fights between vehicles. That is part of the programme, not an accident, and a bucket does not check who is in the seat. Add sun, wind and dust on the unsurfaced sections and you have a day that ends with both of you visibly having been somewhere.

If either of you pictured arriving back at the hotel composed and photogenic, decide now rather than at the first splash. Winter departures run with covered jeeps and no water games, which makes for a drier, quieter day. Keep phones and anything you care about sealed away, and check what to wear and bring for the rest. One more practical note before you board: the tracks are bumpy in places, so mention a back or neck problem to the driver at the gate rather than halfway up the mountain.

An evening instead of a day: the night safari at EUR 35

If a full day in the heat is not what the two of you came for, the Side Night Jeep Safari is the closer fit. It is EUR 35 per person for about five hours, runs from early June to mid-November, and includes hotel pickup and drop-off, the jeep safari with a professional driver, dinner on board, a catamaran cruise, music and entertainment, and a guide. Drinks are not included.

The programme takes in the Manavgat Waterfall in the evening and a swim at Green Lake. Pickup is in the late afternoon and the exact time at your hotel is confirmed after booking, because it genuinely differs from hotel to hotel. It is built for guests aged twelve and over, guests are not permitted to drive the jeeps, and it is not suitable for people with mobility impairments. For a couple who want dinner, water and music in one evening rather than a mountain day, EUR 70 for two is the straightest answer we have.

Which of our days suits which kind of couple

Four of the days we run are the ones a couple usually weighs up, and they are genuinely different products rather than one tour under four names.

  • Mountains, lake and a long lunch: the Side Jeep Safari, EUR 20 each, 8 hours, lunch included
  • An evening out with dinner and a cruise: the Side Night Jeep Safari, EUR 35 each, about 5 hours, ages 12 and over, early June to mid-November
  • Adrenaline in the mix: the Side rafting and jeep combo, EUR 28 each, 7 hours, with the rafting track in Köprülü Canyon, safety equipment and lunch included
  • Staying down the coast: the Alanya Dim River jeep safari, EUR 30 each, 8 hours, April to November, with pickup across the Alanya area from Kestel to Okurcalar

What a couple pays, and when

Two adults on the Side Jeep Safari is EUR 40 for the day with lunch included. Add the optional one-hour boat trip on Green Lake after lunch and it is EUR 5 per person more, so EUR 50 for the two of you — decided and paid at the water, not at the booking form. The night safari is EUR 70 for two.

Nothing is prepaid. The reservation is free, no card is taken online, and you pay in euros on the day of the tour. Cancellation is free up to twenty-four hours before departure, which matters more than it sounds when you are booking a mountain day early in a holiday and the weather has not made up its mind. Keep some money aside for the extras, all paid on the spot: drinks, the mini zoo tickets at the village break, the waterfall entrance if the programme includes it, and the photos and videos the tour team takes.

If you want it private, ask rather than guess

We are not going to invent a private couples product on this page or quote a price for one. We do not publish a private jeep fare, and a made-up number would be worthless to you the moment you tried to book against it.

What we can do is answer the actual question. Message WhatsApp +90 536 603 75 84 with your dates, your hotel area and what you really want — a quieter departure, a vehicle to yourselves, a particular stop — and you will get a straight yes or no from a person. If the answer is no, you will hear that too, and the two of you can spend the day on something that fits better.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is the Side jeep safari a private tour for couples?
No. Each jeep carries eight to ten guests with a professional driver and travels in a convoy with other jeeps, so you share the day with other guests throughout. We do not publish a private-jeep price. If privacy matters, ask on WhatsApp at +90 536 603 75 84 before you book.
Can the two of us sit together?
We do not publish a seating policy, so we cannot promise it in advance — ask the driver when you board at your hotel gate. Either way the vehicle is shared with other guests for the whole eight hours.
How much is a jeep safari for two people?
EUR 40 for two adults, lunch included. With the optional one-hour Green Lake boat trip after lunch it is EUR 50 for the two of you, as the boat is EUR 5 per person paid on the day. The night safari is EUR 70 for two.
Is the day tour or the night safari better for a couple?
The day tour is EUR 20 per person for eight hours with mountain viewpoints, a swim stop and lunch included. The night safari is EUR 35 per person for about five hours with dinner on board and a catamaran cruise, for guests aged twelve and over, from early June to mid-November. Take the night tour if you want an evening rather than a full day in the sun.
Will we get wet and dusty?
In summer, yes. The jeeps are open-topped, there is dust on the tracks, the day includes water fights between vehicles and there is a swim stop at Oymapınar village. Winter departures use covered jeeps with no water games.
Is there a romantic dinner or a sunset element?
The day tour includes lunch at a lakeside restaurant by Green Canyon, not a dinner. The night safari includes dinner on board and a catamaran cruise with music and entertainment, which is the closest thing we run to an evening out for two.
Do we have to pay when we book?
No. The reservation is free, no card is taken online, and you pay in euros on the day of the tour. Cancellation is free up to twenty-four hours before departure.
Which languages is the tour guided in?
Guiding is available in English, German and Russian, plus Turkish, so a mixed-nationality couple is normal rather than a problem. Tell us which language you need when you book.
