Jeep Safari Questions — Short, Honest Answers to Everything Guests Ask

This page is the quick-answer desk for the Side jeep safari: the questions guests actually type, each settled in two or three sentences. The short version of almost all of them is that the day costs 20 EUR per adult, 10 EUR per child aged 4 to 12 and nothing for infants aged 0 to 3, runs for eight hours, includes hotel pickup and lunch, and costs nothing to reserve. Where a question deserves more than a paragraph, we say so and send you to the page that answers it properly.

Price and payment: how much is it, and when do I pay?

How much is a jeep safari from Side? 20 EUR per adult, 10 EUR per child aged 4 to 12, free for infants aged 0 to 3, lunch included. With the optional Green Lake boat trip the day comes to 25 EUR per adult. Prices were last set on 17 August 2026.

When do I pay? On the day of the tour, in euros. The reservation is free: no prepayment, no card taken online, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.

Are drinks included? No — drinks are a personal expense on every tour we run. Photos? Also no: photos and videos from the tour team sit outside the price. For the whole picture, the complete jeep safari price breakdown sets it out line by line.

Time: how long is the day, and what time does it start?

How long does it last? Eight hours for the flagship Side jeep safari; five for the night safari, seven for the Side rafting and jeep combo, and nine for the Evrenseki, Kumköy and Manavgat combos.

What time does it start? In the morning, after breakfast time — deliberately as precise as we get, because the time genuinely differs from hotel to hotel and yours is confirmed after booking. Publishing one time for everybody would be convenient and wrong: read as a promise, it leaves a guest waiting at the gate at the wrong moment. How hotel pickup and drop-off actually work, from the meeting point to the late-afternoon ride home, is explained on its own page.

Pickup, route and the wheel: where does it go, and can I drive?

Is hotel pickup included? Yes — pickup and drop-off from hotels in Side and the surrounding resort areas are in the price, and the meeting point is the main entrance gate of your hotel.

Where does it go? Into the Taurus Mountains behind Side, where the asphalt ends at an old Roman bridge and the tracks turn unpaved and cross riverbeds — past orchards, Roman aqueducts, a viewpoint over Green Lake, the village of Oymapınar with its swim stop and freshly made Turkish pancakes, the dam and a viewpoint above Green Canyon. Only the four lines of the included list are promised; the stops depend on the day's programme.

Can I drive the jeep? No. Guests never drive: every 4x4 seats 8 to 10 guests and has a professional driver at the wheel, so neither a licence nor off-road experience is needed. For the detail there is a full stop-by-stop account of the day.

Is it safe, and who can come?

Is it safe? Professional drivers who know these tracks do the driving, and the convoy travels together. The honest caveat is the surface: the roads are bumpy in places, so mention back or neck problems before boarding. The detail sits on the page about how safety is handled on the mountain tracks.

Can children join, and from what age? Yes — children aged 4 to 12 pay 10 EUR, infants aged 0 to 3 travel free, and we publish no minimum age for the day tour; only the night safari sets one, at 12 and over. We describe separately which parts of the day suit small children.

Is it suitable for older travellers? There is no upper age limit — the price bands end at the word adult, not at a birthday. The bumpiness is what to weigh, better beforehand than on the track, which is why there is a page about the jeep safari for older travellers.

And in pregnancy? That is not ours to advise on and we give no medical clearance. Operationally: the tracks are unpaved, bumpy in places and cross riverbeds. Write to us before you reserve, we will describe your date's programme plainly, and the decision stays yours.

What to wear, and what to bring

What should I wear? In summer, clothes you do not mind getting dusty — the jeeps are open-top — with swimwear underneath if the swim stop and the water fights appeal, and closed shoes rather than flip-flops. In winter the jeeps are covered and there are no water games, so warmth matters more.

What should I bring? Sun protection, a light scarf that covers shoulders and knees for the mosque visit and doubles as dust protection, a sealed bag for phone and documents, and euros for the extras paid on site. The rest is gathered where we go through what to wear and what to bring on the day.

Included or extra: lunch, the boat, the waterfall, Green Canyon

Is lunch included? Yes — lunch at a lakeside restaurant by Green Canyon is one of the four things the price promises, with the jeep day itself, hotel pickup and drop-off, and guiding. Drinks are not included, and what arrives on the table depends on the restaurant, so we publish no menu; what is included at the lakeside lunch is set out separately.

Is the boat trip included? No — the one-hour Green Lake boat trip is an optional add-on at 5 EUR per person, taken after lunch and paid on the day, which is where 25 EUR per adult comes from. There is no separate booking button; you decide on the day. Whether the boat trip is worth the extra is weighed up on its own page.

Is the Manavgat Waterfall included? No, and it is not even guaranteed: the stop on the return leg is programme-dependent, and the entrance is paid on site if it happens. If the waterfall is your main reason for booking, read first why the waterfall stop cannot be promised.

Is Green Canyon included? In the sense that matters, yes — the included lunch is at a lakeside restaurant by Green Canyon, and the route takes in a viewpoint above the canyon and a panorama over Green Lake, with no ticket to buy for the view. What Green Canyon actually is, and why the water is that colour, is answered on a page of its own.

What else costs extra? Drinks, photos and videos from the tour team, the Manavgat Waterfall entrance if that stop happens, and the 5 EUR Green Lake boat trip. All are paid on site, and none is compulsory.

Is there a zoo stop? Not on this tour: the classic Taurus route does not go to the zoo. That stop belongs to our second full-day jeep safari — the same eight hours at the same 20 EUR per adult and 10 EUR per child aged 4 to 12, but with the zoo stop in its route, where guests can have contact with a lion cub for photographs and the ticket is paid on site. They are two tours you choose between when you book, so if the zoo is what you came for, take the jeep safari with the zoo and lion cub stop rather than the classic route.

Water and weather: can I swim, and what if it rains?

Can I swim? Usually, yes — the route normally includes a swim stop at Oymapınar village, and nobody is pushed into the water. The Alanya Dim River day has its own riverside swim stop, and the night safari swims at Green Lake.

Will I get wet even if I stay out of the water? In summer, probably: water fights between jeeps are part of the summer programme, which is why the sealed bag matters more than the towel. In winter the jeeps are covered and there are no water games at all.

What if it rains? The day is not cancelled automatically; a stop may be swapped or dropped, and if a departure cannot be run safely we move it or cancel it free of charge. What actually happens to a jeep safari in bad weather is answered in full elsewhere.

Questions

Frequently asked

What do guests ask most often before booking a jeep safari in Side?
Three things, roughly in this order: what it costs, what time it starts, and whether children can come. The answers are 20 EUR per adult with lunch included, a morning pickup whose exact time is confirmed after booking, and yes — children aged 4 to 12 pay 10 EUR and infants aged 0 to 3 travel free.
Which parts of the day are included, and which are paid on site?
Included: the jeep day in a 4x4 with a professional driver, hotel pickup and drop-off, guiding throughout, and lunch at a lakeside restaurant by Green Canyon. Paid on site if you want them: the 5 EUR Green Lake boat trip, drinks, the Manavgat Waterfall entrance if that stop is on your programme, and photos and videos from the tour team.
How old does a child have to be to pay the child price?
On the flagship Side jeep safari the child rate of 10 EUR covers ages 4 to 12; under 4 travels free and 13 and over pays the adult 20 EUR. On the rafting and jeep combos the bands are infant 0 to 3 free, child 4 to 11 and adult 12 and over. The night jeep safari is for guests aged 12 and over only.
Is there anything about the day that cannot be promised in advance?
Yes, and we would rather say so here than leave you to discover it. The exact pickup time depends on your hotel and is confirmed after booking, the Manavgat Waterfall stop is programme-dependent, and seeing nomadic Yörük families in the foothills is chance rather than schedule. What is promised is the four-line included list: the jeep day, hotel pickup and drop-off, guiding and lunch.
Do I need to tell you anything before the day?
Mention back or neck problems before boarding, because the tracks are bumpy in places. Tell us at booking if an infant aged 0 to 3 is coming. And if you are pregnant, write to us before reserving rather than after — we will describe the tracks plainly and leave the decision with you.
How much does the whole day come to if we take the boat trip?
25 EUR per adult: 20 EUR for the safari with lunch, plus 5 EUR per person for the one-hour Green Lake boat trip, paid on the day. A child aged 4 to 12 pays 10 EUR for the safari, and the boat is 5 EUR per person for anyone who takes it. Nothing at all is charged when you reserve.
Which language will our guide speak on the day?
Guiding is available in English, German and Russian, as well as Turkish. Tell us which you need when you reserve. The website itself is written in English, German, Russian and Polish.
